In almost no time at all, you’ll have a tray of owl cupcakes that coordinates fabulously with BigDotofHappiness.com's whimsical owl baby shower and owl birthday party themes. What a fun fall party idea!
You’ll need:
Box of chocolate cupcake mix (or the ingredients to make your favorite homemade cupcakes)
Line a muffin tin with paper baking cups and separate each Oreo cookie. Place the halves that don’t have cream attached in the bottom of the paper baking cups, one per cup. Set aside the pieces with cream attached.
Prepare your cupcake recipe according to the directions, spooning the batter into each paper baking cup right over the non-frosted Oreo cookie halves. Bake according to the directions. (This will give your guests an extra bite of chocolate at the bottom of each baked cupcake - yum!)
When your cupcakes have cooled, frost the top with chocolate or vanilla frosting.
From your pile of cream-covered Oreo halves, place two cookies side by side on each frosted cupcake.
Place a chocolate M&M in the center of the cream, keeping the candy toward the bottom of the cookie. Your owls will now have eyes!
Place another M&M, preferably pink or red, between the two Oreo cookies and voila - your owls have beaks, too!
