Words of Wisdom: Bride and Groom Helpful Hint Advice Cards

Even with the popularity of bridal shower and wedding registry services, engaged couples always run the risk of receiving duplicate bridal shower and wedding gifts. And while no one would complain about receiving six $100 bills, receiving six coffee makers would be a little much!   There is one gift, though, that never goes out of style and any wise couple would do well to welcome as many duplicates as possible…the gift of advice from friends and family.   This is where our Bride and Groom Helpful Hint Advice Cards can come in handy.

While they are meant to be used as an icebreaker activity or bridal shower game, our always-creative customers have shared with us a few of the heart-warming ways that they have used them with much success.   Several of our customers have explained that they hand each of their guests a Bride & Groom Helpful Hint Advice Card as they arrive and ask them to share some words of wisdom.  The advice can be funny, practical or poignant.  When it is time to open the gifts, an empty chair is placed next to the bride.   If the bride is opening Aunt Edna’s gift, Aunt Edna has the privilege of sitting in the place of honor but before she takes her seat, she must read her advice out loud for all to hear.  The card is then placed in a basket, small photo album or a favor box.  When all of the gifts have been opened, the cards are presented to the bride as a personal keepsake that will be treasured for years to come.  A wonderful benefit of this touching ritual is that each guest will get to share a bit of the spotlight with the bride and be close at hand to hear the bride’s lavish praise as the gift she gave is opened.  Another customer told us that they included a Helpful Hint Advice card with each of their invitations and asked the guests to bring the completed card with them to the shower.  The cards were collected at the door and an industrious co-hostess punched a hole in the upper left corner of each card.  The individual cards were then attached to a bouquet of helium balloons by the balloon strings and presented to the bride as an Advice Bouquet.  How adorable!!!
