Spring Fresh!

It’s spring time finally in good ol’ Wisconsin which means it’s time to clean! After you have cleaned the house from top to bottom you might notice that doggy smell a little bit more. I found a recipe that could help eliminate some of that odor your dog is tracking around to help!

Materials:

1/2 cup baking soda
2 cups water
2 drops lavender oil
1 bandanna or article of clothing sized to fit dog

Directions:

  • Fill a large bowl with two cups of water, add two drops lavender oil, then stir in baking soda until dissolved.
  • Place bandanna in the water and thoroughly soak.
  • Dry the bandanna or article of clothing in the sun.

Once dried thoroughly, you can tie the bandanna around the dogs next or put on the clothing. Because it was all soaked in baking soda, this will help absorb your pup’s ‘doggy smells.’
You can use baking soda in general for around the house to help eliminate those smells. Sprinkle a little on the floor then vacuum up or wash away. Or just by having an open box of baking soda helps as well! Now when people come to my house, they don’t smell dog..they smell our dishes!
