Keepsake Baby Shower Gifts

Looking for a way to help mom-to-be start her memory collection for new addition? Why not give her a gift that will serve as a keepsake for years to come? Here is a short list of adorable gifts sure to get the collection started.

  • Baby & Me Handprint Set: When baby arrives, her parents can imprint her hand in this plaster set. This is a great piece that will be not only a great gift, but a piece of art.
  • Photo Album: Parents can never have enough photo albums for their children. Take this one from great to awesome by including a memory card for their digital camera or a gift certificate to a place like Snapfish, where they can order prints from their digital pictures.
  • Silver Plate Birth Certificate Holder: This is a great gift for Mom and Dad to have on hand when Baby is born, definitely a gorgeous way to celebrate their new addition.
  • Hand & Foot Printing Set: This is a great one! Parents can stamp their baby’s prints onto a nice piece of paper and frame it. Also, there are many places that now take a piece of artwork and make other keepsakes like magnets, mugs, and more.
  • Picture Frames: Help the parents-to-be decorate their baby’s room by giving them sweet picture frames that match the décor they’ve registered for or are neutral enough to match anything. In lieu of the picture that comes with the frame, why not include a short child’s poem? Some good options are nursery rhymes, Shel Silverstein’s “Hug o’ War”, or lyrics to a lullaby. You can find many great options at StoryIt.com.

In addition to these options, try to think of the keepsakes you have from your children, or ones that your parents have kept from you. These are wonderful starting points because you already know that these items are treasured. Also, it’s a good idea to still give something practical with your keepsake gift. There is no need to go all-out on this, though. Even a small pack of pacifiers or bottles (each less than $5/pack) will be indispensible.
