Color Schemes & What They Mean

Big Dot of Happiness has different patterns and colors of decorations for your event. You want everything to look perfect and mean something to you. Check out what these different colors, all featured on our site, have symbolized over time. Not only is color a good way to set a mood, but you use it strategically to reflect your personality.

Blue: Seen as trustworthy, dependable and committed, blue can be dynamic in a bright electric shade or calming in a paler shade.

Green: Tranquil, natural, and refreshing, green can be used in many different shades for the same effect.

 Yellow: Optimistic and happy yellow instills energy and vibrance into your event. It’s brightening effect will also help light up the room as much as the guest of honor.

Orange: Fun, flamboyant, and warm, orange symbolizes harvest and possibility. This color is great to use for fall events, but will brighten your  occasion in any season.

Purple: Uplifting yet serene, purple symbolizes royalty and creativity. Complement it with green in a similar value (pale, bright, etc.) for a whimsical combination.

Red: By far the most dynamic, powerful color, red is energetic and passionate. In some cultures it is also believed to evoke a sense of protection from negative forces.

Brown: This color is commonly associated with reliability and sustainability. There is a feeling of earthiness with this color. Combine it with any shade of green for an organic feeling.

Black: The easiest to combine with any color to make it stand out, black can be dynamic. It’s versatile and graceful. 

White: Pure, neutral and clean, white symbolizes innocence and new beginnings. Use it alone for a stand-out WOW factor, or use it with black for sophisticated elegance.
